I will help you, says the Lord (Isaiah 41:14) Let us listen to Jesus this morning, while he says to each one: I will help you. For me it is a little thing to help you. Consider what I have already done. What does not help you? I bought you with my blood. What, I didn't help you? I have died for you, and if I have done the greatest, won't I do the smallest thing? Help you! This is the least I've always done for you. I have done more and the world was formed, I chose you. I will do more. Before the world was formed I chose you. I made a pact for you; for you I put aside my glory and I humane 'I gave my life for you. If I did all this, there is no doubt that I will help you now too. By helping you, I am giving you what I have already bought for you. If you needed a thousand times as much help as I usually give you, I would give it to you. You ask little compared to what I am willing to give you. For you it is very much to ask, but for me it is nothing to give. Help you? Do not worry! If there was an ant at your barn door asking for help, would it bring you to ruin if you gave it a pinch of wheat? For you are nothing but an insignificant insect at the door of the Almighty God. Oh my soul! Is this not enough for you? Do you need more power than the power of the Father, more love than that manifested in the Son, or more power than that manifested in the works of the Holy Spirit? Bring here your empty song, this spring, no doubt someone, will fill it. Hurry up! Gather your needs and bring them here: Your emptiness, your pain and your needs. Behold, this river of God is full to supply them. What else can you wish for? My soul, come out this day strengthened with this promise. The eternal God is your helper. Do not fear, that I am with you, do not lose heart that I am your God who strives you, I will always help you.
